Privacy Policy

WAPI’s Minesweeper · Effective and last updated: August 26, 2026

Waypoint Code (“Developer”) respects the privacy of WAPI’s Minesweeper (“App”) users. This policy explains the data handled by the iOS and Android App, why it is used, how it is retained, and how it can be deleted.

1. App accounts and platform services

The App does not require registration or create a separate membership account. iCloud, Game Center, and App Store services use the user’s Apple Account on iOS; Google Play Games and Google Play billing use the user’s Google Account on Android. Core gameplay remains available without these optional services. The Developer does not receive Apple or Google Account passwords or payment card details.

2. Data handled by the App

On-device game data and backup

  • Tutorial and stage progress, stars, records, and play statistics
  • Travel coins, hints, owned or equipped cosmetics, and music
  • Language, volume, haptics, accessibility, music, notification, and ad-privacy settings
  • Reward-use counts and dates, plus a random installation identifier used to prevent duplicate rewards and synchronization
  • On-device aggregate event counts used to diagnose save recovery, date validation, and similar errors

This data is stored in the operating system’s app-specific storage by default. On Android, some app data may be included in Google Auto Backup and restored to a new or reinstalled device, depending on the user’s Google backup settings and operating-system policy. Auto Backup can be managed in Android device settings.

Apple iCloud and Game Center

When iCloud is available, game data may synchronize to the user’s private Apple CloudKit database. When Game Center is used, the App may check authentication status and display name and submit total stars, Classic Mode completion times, and achievement progress. CloudKit data is not public to other users; Game Center profile and leaderboard visibility follow the user’s Apple settings.

Google Play Games and Saved Games

When an Android user signs into Google Play Games, the App may check authentication status and gaming display name and submit total stars, Classic Mode completion times, and achievement progress. If Saved Games is used, progress and settings may be uploaded to Google Play Games storage linked to the user’s Google Account so they can continue across Android devices. Profile, achievement, and leaderboard visibility and retention follow the user’s Google Play Games settings and Google’s policies.

In-app purchases

Non-consumable products such as Remove Ads and purchased music are processed by Apple StoreKit on iOS and Google Play Billing through Unity IAP on Android. The App may check the product identifier, receipt or purchase token, order status, and current entitlement to grant or restore the product and reflect pending, canceled, or refunded purchases. The Developer does not receive payment card numbers. Apple or Google retains purchase records under the applicable store account and policies.

Advertising and consent

The App uses Unity LevelPlay, provided by Unity Technologies SF and its affiliates, for ad mediation and Unity Ads for ad delivery. The Android build includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK for platform advertising configuration, and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) is used to collect and transmit consent choices where required by law. As of the effective date, Google AdMob is not independently enabled as a direct ad provider, but the Google Mobile Ads SDK and UMP may operate in applicable configuration, consent, and ad-request flows.

These services and displayed advertising partners may process the following categories to request and deliver ads, apply consent, manage frequency, verify rewards, prevent fraud, measure performance, and diagnose issues:

  • IP address and approximate location inferred from IP
  • Device and app identifiers such as an advertising ID, plus app version, device model, operating system, language, and network information
  • Ad views, impressions, clicks, reward completion, and app interactions
  • Advertising performance, errors, crashes, latency, and other diagnostic or performance information
  • Consent strings, privacy choices, and advertising information stored through on-device storage technologies

Actual processing depends on region, consent choices, device privacy settings, and the advertising partner that serves an ad. The App does not use a separate behavioral analytics SDK such as Firebase Analytics. Users can review available choices in “Settings > Ad Privacy.” The iOS configuration does not request ATT authorization or access IDFA and is configured to request non-personalized ads.

After Remove Ads is purchased, banner and result-transition interstitial ads are not shown. Optional reward features such as coins, continues, and hints remain available without playing an ad video, while their usage limits continue to apply.

Local notifications

If permitted, the App schedules local reminders for new puzzles and adventures on the device. It does not use an external push server, APNs token, or FCM token. On iOS and Android 13 or later, the user grants or denies the operating-system notification permission. Turning notifications off in the App cancels scheduled reminders.

Support inquiries

If a user emails a support or data request, the Developer receives the email address, message, app and device information, and attachments the user chooses to provide. This is used to respond, investigate, or complete the request, including identity verification where necessary.

3. Purposes

  • Provide gameplay, save and recover progress, and synchronize devices within each platform
  • Provide Game Center or Google Play Games leaderboards and achievements
  • Process purchases and verify or restore entitlements
  • Deliver ads, apply consent, manage frequency, grant rewards, prevent abuse, and diagnose issues
  • Schedule local notifications and respond to support or privacy requests

4. Third-party services

Each provider’s privacy policy may apply to its processing. The Developer does not sell personal information.

5. Retention, reset, and deletion

  • The on-device copy can be removed with “Reset Progress” or by deleting the App. Android Auto Backup copies are governed by the user’s Google Account backup settings and Google’s policies.
  • A reset state may synchronize to enabled iCloud or Google Play Games Saved Games so old progress is not restored.
  • Reset does not delete non-consumable store purchase records. Entitlements can be rechecked or restored using the same platform account.
  • Public Game Center or Google Play Games achievements and leaderboard records, store purchase history, and cloud data are managed under the provider’s account settings and policies.
  • Advertising-data retention and deletion follow Unity’s, Google’s, and displayed advertising partners’ policies and the user’s privacy choices.
  • Support emails are retained as long as needed to respond and complete necessary follow-up, and are then deleted.

The App has no separate membership account. Users may email requests to access, correct, delete, or restrict Developer-controlled personal information or withdraw consent, subject to applicable law. For data controlled by Apple, Google, or Unity, the Developer may direct the user to that provider’s process.

6. User choices

Users can reset progress, sign out of platform game services, turn off local notifications, and change available advertising privacy choices. iCloud, Game Center, Google Play Games, Android backup, store purchases, and notification permissions can also be managed in account or device settings. Declining processing required by an optional feature may limit that feature while core gameplay remains available.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not designed for the Developer to knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian may contact the Developer with concerns.

8. Security and international processing

Game data is protected through operating-system app storage and the selected platform’s private cloud storage. Encrypted connections are used when network transmission is required. Data may be processed in countries where Apple’s, Google’s, Unity’s, or advertising partners’ global infrastructure operates, subject to this policy and each provider’s policy.

9. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when features, laws, or third-party services change. Material changes will be reflected by changing the date above and, when necessary, notifying users in the App.
